Big music acts coming to Prague & ČR in 2018
Ozzy Osbourne, David Byrne, Pearl Jam and Ringo Starr are headed to Prague
There are a lot of big shows already announced for 2018, with something in every genre. Heavy metal is well-represented as always, with Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden both scheduled to appear at Letňany Airport in separate shows in June. Judas Priest and Scorpions have show outside of Prague.
Many long-time acts are coming, with former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr coming with his current All-Starr Band in June. Other 1960s acts headed to Prague include Slade and Joan Baez, while Bob Dylan is stopping by in Brno.
Former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters is coming for two days on his Us + Them Tour. Progressive rock band King Crimson is back for two days in June.
Heading into acts from the 1970s, ToTo will be here in February on their 40th-anniversary tour. Ritchie Blackmore is taking a break from Renaissance music and has re-formed Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow to explore his hard-rock classics.
Fans of the 1980s can look forward to Depeche Mode returning in January, reprising their Global Spirit Tour. Metallica brings its Worldwired Tour in April. Former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne will be one of the headliners at the Metronome Festival in June. On the lighter side, Shania Twain is back after a long break with her Now Tour.
Acts from the end of the 20th century include Pearl Jam, while former Oasis member Noel Gallagher has his new act High Flying Birds. Thirty Seconds To Mars fronted by Jared Leto has a show in April.
Pop star Anastacia’s Evolution Tour arrives in May. Queens of the Stone Age return in June.
Groups from the 21st century include indie rock bands Franz Ferdinand, whose name comes from a racehorse, and Alt-J, whose name comes from a computer shortcut. Imagine Dragons apparently takes their name for an anagram, but only the band members know the answer to the riddle.
