Dave Matthews Band coming to Forum Karlín

Prague is part of their first European tour since 2015

Dave Matthews Band is coming to Prague’s Forum Karlín on March 27, 2019. It will be the band’s first European tour since 2015, and will mark their first shows in Oslo, Warsaw and Bologna.

Online ticket presale for all shows on the Europe Tour is available starting Oct. 22 at 9 am to DMB Warehouse members, who can go to the tour dates page at www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com and click “buy tickets.”

Tickets for most shows will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct. 26, at 9:00 am Central European Time. All ticket purchases include a free download of the band’s new album, Come Tomorrow.

Dave Matthews Band, also called DMB, formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1991. Matthews, who plays guitar and sings lead, bassist Stefan Lessard, and drummer Carter Beauford have been in the lineup since the beginning. Trumpeter Rashawn Ross, sax player Jeff Coffin and guitarist Tim Reynolds joined in the 2000s, and keyboard player Buddy Strong just joined in 2018.

With the release of Come Tomorrow, the band has become the first to have seven consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard charts.

Since their start, DMB has sold more than 80 million concert tickets and 68 million CDs and DVDs combined.

The band likes their shows to be different, and since the 1990s has been known for playing their songs differently each time they are performed live.

The band won a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for the song “So Much to Say” in 1997, and has had 13 other nominations.

They also won four times out of four nominations on the My VH1 Music Awards, in 2000 and 2001, including twice for favorite group.

Songs that band is known for include “Ants Marching,” “Jimi Thing,” “Tripping Billies” and “Two Step.”

Recently they have also been playing “Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)” and “Louisiana Bayou” quite frequently. On occasion they do covers such as Stevie Wonder’s “ Superstition” or Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower.”

Dave Matthews, without his regular band, was in Prague with Tim Reynolds on April 2017 for a three-hour show that included a lot of DMB material but played it in a different style.
