Parlotones coming to Rock Cafe

The South African band will be in Prague for the first time

The indie rock band Parlotones will be coming to Prague’s Rock Cafe on Nov. 4. The band, made of Kahn Morbee, Neil Pauw and brothers Glenn and Paul Hodgson, formed in 1998 and has achieved success in their home country of South Africa, as well as success in various international markets.

While they have toured Europe extensively, especially as an opener for Coldplay and Snow Patrol, this will be their first show in Prague.

They released their first album Episoda in 2003 and have since released five more studio albums: radiocontrolledrobot (2005), A World Next Door to Yours (2007), Stardust Galaxies (2009), Journey Through the Shadows (2012) and Stand Like Giants (2013).

They have also released two live albums, Unplugged (2008) and Live Design (2010).

In 2015 the band released Antiques & Artefacts, their first independently released album. This was followed by Trinkets, Relics & Heirlooms in 2016 and Orchestrated in 2017.

A new album celebrating their 20-year history called China was released in July 2018.

The band has toured internationally since 2007; regularly visiting the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and North America, as well as shows in South America, Canada, Australia, Japan and Russia. They have also toured with Coldplay, Starsailor, Ash, The Wombats, Snow Patrol and Blue October.

A career highlight was a performance at the opening ceremony of World Cup in South Africa in 2010, where they played with Black Eyed Peas, Alica Keys and Shakira.
