Metronome announces daily schedule
Tickets are also now available for individual days as well as the whole festival
The two-day Metronome Festival Prague, taking place June 21–22 has announced its schedule. While the main acts have long been known, who will be on which day has not. The sale of single-day tickets has also been launched.
The fourth edition of the festival, again at Výstaviště Praha Holešovice, will again be cashless to speed up entry and sales at food and beverage points.
The schedule for June 21 is headlined by former Oasis member Liam Gallagher. Other featured names on the opening day include UK electronic band Morcheeba, former Czech dissident band Pražský výběr, and British DJ Danny Howard.
This will be Pražský výběr’s only open-air festival appearance this year.
That leaves German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk to headline June 22. That day’s lineup will also see Scottish alternative rock band Primal Scream, London neo-soul group Jungle, a DJ set by Hamburg duo Digitalism, and British indie rocker Anna Calvi.
There will also be a unique concert of Czech female singers on one stage: Eva Pilarová, Anna K., Monika Načeva, Bára Poláková, Lenka Filipová, Emma Smetana, Žofie Dařbujánová and Never Sol.
The program overall will have more Czech and Slovak performers than ever before.
The main acts should alternate between two stages, so people won’t have to choose which ones to see. Both days will feature more acts; these are just the headliners.
New this year at the festival will be the finals of Radio Wave’s seventh annual Czeching where musical projects will compete. All the nominees will perform on June 22 at Radio Wave’s Czeching Showcase stage. The winner of the competition will be selected by an international panel of judges.
There will also be workshops and talks, a chillout zone, and sports and play areas.
The Metronome Square will offer a focus on education and demonstrations on robots and virtual reality.
Another piece of news for this year is that the sister festival United Islands of Prague will take place on a different weekend so people can now easily attend both. United Islands takes place May 31–June 1 in Prague’s Karlín district.
