Festival of microbreweries at the Prague Castle

The annual Festival of Microbreweries takes place on 14th and 15th June, at Prague Castle. Organised by Českomoravský svaz minipivovarů (www.cmsmp.cz) it aims to present the very best of Czech brewing alongside international breweries specially chosen for this event. In previous years, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian and Austrian breweries have featured, and this year, German breweries will be in attendance.

A massive 66 Czech microbreweries will be offering their wares, alongside 3 legendary German breweries, including the world famous Schlenkerla brewery from Bamberg, bringing its historic smoked beers.

The festival itself differs from many, and can be seen more as a tasting event, rather than a drinking competition; the number of visitors is limited, with 1250 tickets available daily, of which 500 can be purchased on the door. The 500 Kč entrance fee includes a catalogue of the beers, your personal tasting glass (0.75 dl), and of course, unlimited tasting.

The festival takes place in the beautiful Royal Garden of the Prague Castle, on the Střelecká cesta pod Královským letohrádkem, on Friday, 14 June, from 14:00 to 20:00 and on Saturday, June 15, from 12:00 to 20:00. Brewers and owners from each brewery will be present at the festival to provide visitors with all the information they require about the beers and breweries
