Beyond Everyday Pop

Charli XCX brings her new album to Prague

Charlotte Aitchison, aka Charli XCX, sits between the most experimental and the mainstream of pop. She featured on, and co-wrote, Iggy Azalea’s worldwide hit, “Fancy”; a song that topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for 7 consecutive weeks, and went on to be Grammy nominated. As a soloist she has released two albums and two mixtapes. This year, she will release her long-awaited third album, "Charli", in September.

Charli XCX will be at Roxy on November 14, 2019 and it will be her first ever solo concert in Prague.

Charli revealed about the album, "It will contain fifteen songs with a total of fourteen guests ... I am excited about it and I would describe it as emotional, club, tender and aggressive at the same time”. All collaborations are equally important to her, and her words make up the heart of the recording. The musical innovator mixes elements from across the pop spectrum. Apart from Charli, A. G. Cook from the PC Music label also contributed to the production. Guests include Troy Sivan, Lizzo, Christine & The Queens, Haim, Sky Ferreira and Tommy Cash.

The visual aspect was provided by artist Ines Alpha. Its aim was to deconstruct classical ideals of beauty and create a fitting visual accompaniment to a bold recording that’s experimenting with futuristic pop.

Tickets are 850 CZK, and available here
