Theatre Royal hosting expats party

France is the theme of the first of a new series of expat events

Theatre Royal in Prague's Vinohrady district is having the first in a series of expat parties. The party is called “Special France,” but you don't have to speak French to attend and entrance is free.

On June 6th, doors open at 5 p.m., and the short documentary Generation Expat, in French with English subtitles, will be screened at 6 p.m., followed by a Q & A with the directors and producers Florian Mosca and Laurent Lingelser.

The film runs about 40 minutes and looks at the daily lives of 14 French expatriates who left everything to live their dreams on the other side of the world. They try to go beyond the clichés of expat life, according to the filmmakers.

The film takes viewers to Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Canada, Singapore, India, Thailand, Malaysia and New Zealand.

After the film and Q&A, there will be a relaxed evening with a special cocktail called Frosé, which a portmanteau of frozen and rosé, and will include French rosé wine as an ingredient.

Theatre Royal is a hidden gem in Vinohrady. The former movie theater has been restored to its 1920s glory and is filled with comfortable lounge chairs and tables, with a full bar at the back. It now hosts events ranging from live concerts to burlesque shows.
