Five Finger Death Punch coming to Forum Karlín

The band is continuing with a new tour despite some recent tensions

US heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch will be coming to Prague's Forum Karlín on Nov. 26. Tickets go on sale June 16 at 10 am on the Ticketpro network. They will be joined by Swedish heavy metal band In Flames in what the promoter is calling a clash of the titans and the fall's biggest rock ride, as both groups have large sets of fans.

Five Finger Death Punch (5FDP) just announced the new tour one day after some controversy. The group cut short a show in the Netherlands, with lead singer Ivan Moody announcing, “I’ll let you know ahead of time — this is my last show with Five Finger Death Punch.”

Apparently there had been some tension among the members and arguments on stage.

The next day, though, the band issued a statement along with the announcement of the new tour. Ivan Moody is staying, it seems. “Those who have followed 5FDP from the beginning can tell you there has always been an element of danger and unpredictability in our music and in our shows. That’s rock 'n' roll. When you do over 150 shows in a year, you will inevitably have a few derailments, but the train always keeps on moving. Last night in Tilburg was one of those instances, but as they say, you aren’t a race car driver if you don’t wreck a car or two,” the band said in a statement.

“We can’t wait to put on amazing shows … all the way to our just announced winter tour all over Europe. See you all on the race track. Bring a helmet,” the statement said.

The band on Twitter had been promising a big announcement for several days, and it was meant to be the tour, not the fiasco in the Netherlands. “Knuckleheads - We're touring all across Europe this fall with @inflames_swe, & special guests @OmandM!” the band stated before clarifying about the band's status. US metalcore band Of Mice and Men is the third act on the program.

5FDP was last in Prague in November 2015 as a headline act and in June 2015 opening for Judas Priest. The November show proved to be the wilder of the two, with a mosh pit on the floor of Incheba Arena.

5FDP is from Las Vegas, Nevada, and the name refers to a kung fu movie from the 1970s. They have released six studio albums since 2007, with 2015's Got Your Six as the most recent.

In Flames made a similar announcement over social media. “Jesterheads & Knuckleheads: We're teaming up with @5fdp and special guests @omandm to tour all over EU and the UK this November & December,” the band said. The band uses a flaming jester head as its mascot.

In Flames was formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in 1990 in Gothenburg, Sweden. They are one of the groups responsible for developing the melodic death metal genre. The group has 12 studio albums since 1994. Battles, so fr the most recent, came out in 2016 and reached number two on the Swedish charts.

The group has won for Grammys Awards in Sweden and Best International Band from the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2008.

The group has been in Prague eight times since 1997, playing venues such as the long-gone Belmondo Club way back when, and more recently at MeetFactory and Roxy.
