Mesotherapy treatments (and more) at the Altos Clinic Prague

Get your skin in top shape for the summer

A basic skin care regime is a regular part of daily life. Washing your face, removing make-up, and applying moisturizer are processes that help to keep your skin clean and fresh. Sometimes, however, your skin may need a more dramatic wake-up call. If you are looking for a gentle, non-surgical cosmetic treatment that penetrates deep into your skin and gives you more energetic and firmer skin with better skin color and tone, mesotherapy is an excellent option.

Mesotherapy, which is a combination of the words “meso” (middle) and “therapy,” works by targeting the cells in the middle layer beneath the skin’s surface. Mesotherapy uses short, thin needles to inject a cocktail of active materials, vitamins, natural extracts, and hyaluronic acid under the skin’s surface for better absorption and more effective results than creams or gels alone.

For anyone suffering from acne, problematic skin (i.e. very oily or very dry), hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, or large pores, mesotherapy can provide a solution. Mesotherapy can also be used to reduce stretch marks from age, such as those on the neck, décolletage, or on the breasts (i.e. after pregnancy and/or nursing), as well as targeted cellulite reduction (lipo mesotherapy).

To gain the full effects of mesotherapy, the treatment is best offered in 3–4 applications (each approximately 30 minutes) with a pause of 10–14 days between each treatment. A complete mesotherapy treatment plan runs approximately 6 weeks.

As with all cosmetic procedures performed at the Altos Clinic, mesotherapy is prescribed only after a consultation and physical examination by a doctor. Together with the client, a doctor helps prescribe the best treatment plan for a patient’s own unique skin.

Before each mesotherapy application, a numbing cream with local anesthetic is applied to make the procedure as painless as possible. The effects of mesotherapy can last up to one year, and the treatment can be done at any time of the year. It is a popular gift for brides-to-be as well as a nice treat to revitalize skin before or after the summer.

Other injection-based treatments

Although mesotherapy is perhaps the best all-around treatment for skin revitalization and “wake up,” the Altos Clinic provides several other injection-based treatments targeted to specific skin needs, such as plasma injections (acne), biorevitalization (age), spot treatments (filler) and Botulotoxin (wrinkles). A combination treatment plan from different injection methods is possible.

Plasma treatments

For anyone suffering from acne, the plasma treatment comes highly recommended by Altos’s medical staff. The plasma treatment takes a client’s own plasma (from a blood sample which is drawn on-site at the clinic) and injects it under the skin in a manner similar to the mesotherapy procedure.

Biorevitalization is another injection-based treatment, which is particularly effective for slowing the skin’s natural aging process. Biorevitalization uses concentrated hyaluronic acid injected under the skin to stimulate the skin’s elasticity and rejuvenate the skin, resulting in firmer, brighter, more youthful skin. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component found in skin. Biorevitalization helps combat the effects of aging, over-exposure to sun and aids in rehabilitation after a cosmetic procedure.

Spot Treatments

Spot treatments use an injection of concentrated hyaluronic acid to fill in or smooth out deeper wrinkles, such as laugh lines, crows’ feet, and “bar code” wrinkles above the upper lip. Spot treatment is effective for wrinkles around the nose and mouth and can be used to enlarge and reshape lips. The effects of spot treatments last from 8 months to 2 years depending on the location and the type of treatment.

Botulotoxin (botulinum toxin)

Many people believe that Botulotoxin is the best treatment for more youthful skin. In fact, Botulotoxin treatments are effective only for the reduction of wrinkles in the facial area. Botulotoxin works by relaxing the facial muscles and is best effective on mimic wrinkles and wrinkles which are caused by muscle tension, such as wrinkles in the forehead, on the bridge of the nose, crows’ feet, and wrinkles around the mouth. One injection of botulinum toxin lasts 6 months and repeat injections are possible. After the initial injection, the effects typically last longer. Botulotoxin can be used to correct facial asymmetry and to relax and reshape the contour of the face.

Lipo mesotherapy

The lipo mesotherapy injection method can be used to perform targeted fat reduction, correction of flabby skin, stretch marks, and scars. The method is effective for problem areas, such as under the chin, where exercise alone often doesn’t remove the extra skin. Lipo mesotherapy works by reducing the size of an individual cell as well as stimulating cell metabolism and regeneration. Used in combination with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle, targeted lipotherapy can be effective.
