5th sauna week @ Aquapark Cestlice, Prague
National Sauna Week 31.10 – 8.11.2015
For the 5th time already the national sauna week will be held in the Czech Republic from 31.10 – 8.11.2015. In Prague the action will be going on in Aquapark Cestlice. During this week, visitors will have the chance to see newly introduced sauna ceremonies.
“It’s all about health, relaxing or just feeling better” is what Daniel Ulrich from Aquapark Cestlice tells Prague.TV when we speak with him about their unique sauna world. 14 different styles of saunas are available at Aquapark, from a Russian style outdoor sauna to a Roman bath and also a special children’s sauna area.
Regular visits to a sauna help to improve blood circulation, detox your body and increase your resistance to colds. The timing is perfect for this year’s sauna week – just before the cold season starts. The idea behind this event, which is organised by the Czech Sauna Association, is to bring new people to experience sauna culture and to show them what the sauna can do for their health.
The times are over when you just sit in the heat and sweat. Today’s sauna visitors expect more. The newest trends in the world of the sauna are special ceremonies like themed entertainment events. With all the hype around the upcoming Star Wars movie, it’s no surprise that one of the sauna shows is themed like Star Wars, but there are also Mexican, belly dancing and other themed shows available to visitors.
Aquapark’s saunas offer temperatures ranging from 60 – 100 degrees Celsius. There are treatments for newcomers and also those for sauna pros. There will be special shows like Sing Swing Gentleman, ceremonies based on the famous jazz musical Chicago as well as melodies from famous children bedtime stories. The full week’s program offers many unique sauna performances, so it’s only up to you to choose.
To get to Aquapark Cestlice, just follow the D1 highway towards Brno. After a couple of minutes, you will see an exit for the shopping zone Průhonice – Čestlice. Follow the signs to the Aquapark. Two large covered car parks are available free of charge.
By public transport, take the C line metro to Opatov or Chodov. From there, take a free bus to the Aquapark, find for more information on this service here.
