Amatuer chefs to battle in Burgerfest’s Best Burger competition

Show off your perfect burger recipe and have the chance of winning fantastic prizes

Prague’s third annual Burgerfest will offer amateur burger chefs the opportunity to showcase their own recipes in a competition that will judge who can prepare the best burger.

The competition will consist of competing teams consisting of four members who will be faced with the challenge of making the best burger from a list of pre-designated ingredients – so if you and your friends, colleagues or family members think you have the perfect burger recipe why not show off your talents and be in with the chance of winning some fantastic prizes?

The first round of the competition takes place between 4 August to 25 August where teams of four, who must all be at least 18 years of age, are required to put together a recipe from the pre-designated list of ingredients and email it to no later than 25 August.

The approved list of ingredients is as follows – burger meat, minced meat, salt and pepper, Hellman’s ketchup, Hellman’s mustard, Hellman’s barbecue sauce, Hellman’s mayonnaise, Hellman’s tartar suace, grill seasoning, tomatoes, pickles, chilies, cheddar, gouda, niva, oak leaf lettuce, arugula, onion, avocado, pineapple, zucchini, eggplant, peppers and bacon.

The recipe must contain certain information which includes the recipe name, the burger ingredients, your team name, full names of all team members and the email and phone contact details of one of the team members. It should also state on which day of Burgerfest you would like your team to compete – either 6 September at 4 pm or 7 September at 3 pm.

After the first round of the competition, eight teams will be selected based on their recipes and will advance to the second round. The main event will take place during Burgerfest at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. Each successful team will have just one hour to prepare four burgers based on the recipe they previously submitted, with the burger being assessed by a panel of experienced burger judges based on the following criteria - taste, appearance, originality of ingredients and the burger recipe name.

After an intense taste test, three teams’ recipes will be announced as Burgerfest 2014’s Best Amateur Festival Burgers and the people behind the winning burgers will be rewarded with some great prizes.

Prague TV, Burgerfest’s exclusive English speaking media partner, will be putting together a team and creating a delicious burger recipe – do you and your team dare to take on Prague TV? Then send your burger recipe and team details to by 25 August.
