Prague Food Festival 2007
A press release from the Prague Food Festival
Time: 12pm-10pm
Venue: Museum Kampa, U Sovových mlýnů 2, Praha 1- Malá Strana
Restaurants: A daily selection of specialties from 12 restaurants ranked among the Top 100 of Maurer's Grand Restaurant guide.
Following on from similar festivals that have gained widespread popularity across the world, the Prague Food Festival is a celebration of gastronomy, the culinary art of chefs and producers of food and drink, and a celebration of Prague and the architects, artists, musicians and designers who contribute to the beauty and attraction of the Czech capital.
Over the course of this three-day event in September, visitors will be able to sample a variety of Czech, Brazilian, French, Japanese and Mediterranean specialties. Each day you can try out the delicacies served by 12 local restaurants known for their quality, professionalism and acclaimed chefs.
Altogether there will be 30 restaurants from Prague and the Czech Republic. Other refreshments will be provided by Mattoni Cocktail Bar (non-alcoholic drinks), Pilsner Urquell Pub, Bohemia Sekt Bar, Davidoff Café Bar and U Závoje.
This untraditional gourmet event will be accompanied by specially selected music to harmonize with each restaurant (with Brazilian rhythms by Tam-Tam Batucada, for example). There will also be an atypical fashion show with a gourmet spirit, artefacts made of ice and the opportunity to have a romantic dinner on a small boat trip on the river.
Part of the proceeds will go to the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation in support of the Kampa Museum's operations. This event is being held under the auspices of the Mayor of Prague, Dr. Pavel Bém, and with the support of the Municipality of Prague 1.
