Prague Bar Show has one day for the public

This year's event will be a celebration of Czech bartenders

The eighth year of Prague Bar Show will take place at the industrial area of Pragovka in Vysočany on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 21 and 22. The first day of the Prague Bar Show will be open not only to professionals but also to the public, gastronomy fans and foodie community members who want to know what they eat or drink.

The concept of the second day will stick to tradition, and only HoReCa professionals will be able to visit Prague Bar Show on Monday.

The event is organized by Barlife, a specialist magazine which has been surveying the Czech beverage industry since 2004.

Prague Bar Show is the most important event of the trade and the only event of its kind in the Czech Republic. It was first hosted in 2011. For seven years, this specialist event has only been available to gastronomy experts. For the eighth year of 2018, it is open to all fans and enthusiasts from the public on the opening day.

Prague Bar Show comprises of seminars, workshops and beverage presentations. Visitors meet the world's best experts, bartenders, mixologists and brand ambassadors, gain knowledge and inspiration and get acquainted with the latest beverage trends.

Primarily, they can taste drinks made by any of the dozens of exhibitors – from world-renowned brands to local craft products.

All events organized by the Barlife magazine include educational seminars. During Prague Bar Show, they're twice as important. During both days, seminars will take place on two stages: Barlife Main Stage and Spirit Magazín Stage.

Since we're celebrating a 100th anniversary of the Czech Republic this year and since Czech bartenders belong to the most renowned ones, the programme will be focused on Czech barkeepers and stars of bar trade who work in the republic or abroad.

On Sunday, Tomáš Mozr will introduce the category of non-alcoholic spirits to laypersons. The programme will also include panel discussions led by Roman Vaněk. In the first one, he'll debate with Martin Žufánek and Adam Matuška.

In the next one, together with Petr Mára and Pavel Býček, he'll focus on the topic of special needs, diets and food allergies as perceived by a guest or a restaurant owner.

On Monday, expert speakers will include Rory Shephard from the Little Red Door bar (Paris), Wendy Stoklasová, Jan Vlachynský, Angostura Global Brand Ambassador Daniyel Jones and others.

Prague Bar Show will run from noon to 8 pm on both days. Admission is for visitors above 18 only.

Similarly to past years, admission is free for BARLIFE subscribers. A ticket can be found in the October issue of the magazine. It is valid for one person for both days.
