Prague College announces new Communications and Media programme
Prague College, one of the Czech Republic's leading private universities, is delighted to announce the addition of a new educational programme from February 2016, Communications and Media Studies.
The BA (Hons) in Communications and Media Studies is a three-year degree path preparing students for a wide range of careers in the media industry. The programme provides a detailed introduction to the latest practice in media, starting with film, TV and radio journalism, and moving on to social media, new and convergent media such as web-radio, and other multi-platform formats.
The programme begins with a two-year diploma in Creative Media Production accredited by the international education provider Pearson UK. Working in accordance with international media standards and practices, the course will create professionals that are able to analyse and think critically, opening work opportunities in media channels around the world.
For Deputy Director Jeff Buehler, there could not be a better time to introduce the new programme: ‘This programme is different from others of its kind in Prague and Central Europe, as it addresses the need for creative and highly skilled communicators able to work in the emerging media of the future. And the need right now has never been greater'.
He went onto add: 'We know that practical, forward-thinking programmes such as this one will produce exactly the sort of graduates employers want - able to shape existing media, but also to play an active and creative role in defining the media of the next generation.'
The degree programme is one of a wide range of diploma and degree courses in Business, Computing, Art and Design available at Prague College. For more information, please visit www.praguecollege.cz
