Prague Youth Theatre (PYT) is a new English speaking Youth Theatre in Prague.
The PYT philosophy is designed to give young people the chance to express themselves within a dramatic medium and to develop not only their theatrical skills, but also their sense of teamwork, confidence and commitment.
PYT offers young people aged between 8 – 17 years old the opportunity -
• To express themselves through a dramatic medium
• To work with professional actors, directors and technicians *
• To take responsibility for themselves as individuals and as members of a team
• To gain experience in areas other than that provided through education
*Ben Bradshaw from BBC TV’s ‘The Office’ will be running a two hour improvisation workshop on Saturday 15th October for PYT Seniors.
During the PYT Season from September 2011 – July 2012, company members will perform at least two major performances and will cover a wide range of theatrical skills. These may include:
• Stage Fighting
• Acting for TV and Film
• Sound Design and Recording
• Clowning and Physical Comedy
• Improvisation
• The Art of Devising
• And many, many more…!
There are two companies in PYT – The first is PYT Seniors for 14 – 17 year olds. This group consists of an acting company of 15 and a technical company of 5. Sessions are held every Saturday from 11am – 1pm
The second company is PYT Juniors which takes on a group of fifteen 8 – 13 year olds. Sessions are held every Saturday from 9am – 10.30am
PYT auditions takes place on Saturday 17th September at Divadlo Kampa.
