Prague Quadrennial 2003
Labyrinth of the world and Paradise of the Theatre
Industrial Palace - Exhibition Grounds
Výstaviště Prague
June 13-29, 2003
For two weeks every four years, the Czech capital Prague plays host to those committed to the meeting of performance and design. Against the backdrop of this living architectural museum and its labyrinthine side streets, the Prague Quadrennial takes place in the halls of the Industrial Palace, built in 1891 in Prague's Exhibition Grounds.
The exhibition is subtitled this year as Labyrinth of the world and Paradise of the Theatre and will include theatre cultures from all continents of the world will present themselves in the form of national exhibits.

A Cardiac Arrest to the Conventional! is the subtitle to the interactive exhibit Heart of the Prague Quadrennial. This project, located in the Centre Hall of the Industrial Palace, is a creation of a space dedicated to the human senses. The space will function as, for example, an interactive bar for the sense of taste, a wall of memories for the sense of smell, a laboratory for the sense of hearing, a massage studio for the body and soul. Everything will be open to the spectators. The daily program will include presentations, workshops, discussions, seminars, and performances.
World famous personalities such as Salvador Dali, Tadeusz Kantor, Josef Svoboda and others, have taken part in the exhibition that first took place in 1967.
The program of the Prague Quadrennial 2003 is broadened by a series of accompanying activities and other partner projects that will take place not only on the Výstavýště Exhibition Grounds, but also in various locations throughout the city of Prague.
