Welcome to Night Vale (US) first time in Prague!
18. 10. 16 @ Divadlo U Hasičů, Prague
Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor created the Welcome to Night Vale podcast in 2012, having met through the anarchic, award-winning New York-based theatre group the New York Neo-Futurists. The show quickly became an underground success; in July 2013 it was downloaded 2.5 million times, making it No. 1 on iTunes, ahead of popular programs such as This American Life and Radiolab. That August, it was downloaded 8.5 million times. After all these achievements the author came back to their roots – in theaters. They created five scripts and toured the world with great success. They will come to Prague with the latest script Ghost Stories. But it won’t be a traditional theatre piece thanks to its background in modern technologies. You can immerse yourself into this amazing script combined with live music and unique drama.
Welcome to Night Vale: Ghost Stories will transport you to the surreal world of desert town Night Vale with its odd radio host Colin Palmer. The New York Times described the atmosphere as “what might occur if Stephen King or David Lynch was a guest producer at your local public radio station”. And The Guardian summarized whole experience as “Hypnotic and darkly funny”. Well, welcome to Night Vale…
