Paul Pacey Fine Art Photo Studio Announces Opening Show


Award winning photographer Paul Pacey kicks off the official launch of his new gallery, August 27th, with its first show ‘FINE ART NUDE PHOTO CHALLENGE’. The concept behind the exhibition is simple. 13 Photographers from 6 countries. 1 camera. 1 lens. 1 nude model. 1 hour. 1 WINNER. 1 NIGHT ONLY.

The photographers were each assigned an hour at random, with a fine art model they had never met, in a location they had never visited before. They were allowed one lens, no flash, no artificial light, no assistants, and no hair, makeup, or wardrobe styling. Photographer and subject, stripped bare, with nothing to rely upon but their talent and ability to improvise. Each photographer then selected their two best photos for the opening exhibition. The winning image will be chosen by the gallery public at the opening.

Situated on one of Prague’s busiest thoroughfares, Nerudova, the gallery ingeniously utilizes its unique layout to showcase a panoply of modern work by both local and international artists. A focal point where old meets new. As well as the exhibition space, the gallery boasts a classic wet plate studio. As Paul himself says, “It is a place where emerging, forward-thinking, digital artists have a platform equal in opportunity as those who dedicate their talents to keeping alive the beautiful hand-crafted analogue processes that have paved the way.”

If you name it, Paul Pacey has probably shot it – from weddings to runways, porn stars to presidents, his commercial work has taken him from Mexico to Canada, through the States, over to South East Asia, China, the Middle East, and back through Europe, where he currently lives in the beautiful city of Prague. A photo from his Prague Impressions placed 3rd out of 16,000 entries in the World Photography Organization annual contest.

Antonio Cossa’s visceral and inspiring photojournalism has taken him from his birthplace in Mozambique, to war-torn Syria, and all the way to the red carpets of Hollywood. His love of analogue photography and dedication to capturing the most dangerous of world events have established him as a unique talent.

Petr Kozlík’s portfolio reads like a who’s who of high end editorial, commercial and celebrity clients. His candid, intimate portraits speaks for themselves.
