Český Lev Award Nominees

The movies and moviemakers shortlisted for the Czech equivalent of the Oscars

With 12 nominations, Jan Hřebejk's bittersweet comedy-drama, Horem Pádem (Up and Down), is the frontrunner going into March 5th's Český lev award ceremony.

Chosen by the Česká filmová a televizní akademie (Czech Film and Television Academy), the awards - the Czech equivalent of the Oscars - honor the best in cinema here over the past year.

This year's ceremony will be held, as usual, in Palác Lucerna's great hall, and televised live on ČT1.
