'Van Gogh's Ear: The Celebrity Edition' Anthology Tour at Prague Bookstore
A press release from the French Connection Press
Van Gogh’s Ear is among the most popular of worldwide anthologies in the field of creative writing. The star contributor is poet Robin Metz from Chicago, USA. Mr. Metz is, among many trades, co-founder of Vitalist Theatre Company in Chicago who was awarded the Rainer Maria Rilke International Poetry Prize for his book Unbidden Angel.
Since its debut in 2002, Van Gogh's Ear has gained international acclaim for its original work by more than eighty celebrated and emerging talents per volume. It is distributed in the USA, Canada, Europe, South Africa and Australia. The fifth volume, containing works dedicated to the life of Marilyn Monroe, will be launched at prestigious readings and events organized in Chicago, Toronto, Paris, London, San Francisco, New York and Sydney.
Van Gogh's Ear 5: The Celebrity Edition is edited by poet, writer and filmmaker Ian Ayres, as an odyssey into art, truth, vivid voices and visions, passions, and awakenings. The fully illustrated book offers 280 pages of striking originality bursting with unexpected insights relevant to our human condition. Bringing together renowned poets, novelists, cultural icons and political activists from every corner of the globe.
Marilyn aficionados will be delighted as they discover the real, living, breathing,
and feeling person that Marilyn Monroe was in never-before-revealed memories by many of her intimates. Such as her personal masseur, Ralph Roberts, and movie stars Tony Curtis and Mamie Van Doren. Other contributors include Joyce Carol Oates, John Updike, Norman Mailer, Billy Collins, Sarah Churchwell, John Giorno, Aram Saroyan, Gary Indiana, Sylvia Miles, Xaviera Hollander, J.T. Leroy, Dennis Cooper, Charles Manson, Marquis de Sade, and Patricia Nell Warren.
Van Gogh's Ear welcomes submissions from new voices that explore innovative approaches to poetry and creative writing and dare go beyond anything yet imagined. Volume 6 will be edited by poet and Fulbright scholar Dawn-Michelle Baude and will be centered around the theme of Love in the Postmodern era.
Van Gogh's Ear is a joint publication of French Connection Press (Paris) and Committee On Poetry (New York), a non-profit organization created by Allen Ginsberg. For more information about French Connection Press and its poetry works at: http://www.frenchcx.com/
