More parking garages planned

Prague 7 just opened the garage at Letná and Prague 1 is planning more

The parking situation in Prague should be getting a bit better. Prague 7 finally opened a new parking garage at Letná, and more underground lots are planned.

Prague 1 Town Hall plans to complete an underground parking garage in Štěpánská Street in 2018 and also is preparing another project at the Nemocnice na Františku.

The garage in Štěpánská will have 87 parking spaces and has a budget of Kč 112 million. The planned garage at Nemocnice na Františku will have space for 150 to 200 cars. The project is connected with the revitalization of the nearby Dvořákovo nábřeží.

Prague 1 wants the underground garage projects to deal with the lack of parking in the area. Due to parking zones, the number of spaces available downtown is very limited.

Drivers can also finally park in the new underground garage at Prague's Letná park since Sept. 16. The garage has more than 800 spots with 315 reserved for residents of Prague 7. The garage was built as part of the Blanka tunnel complex and faced several delays before opening.

Resident can obtain a magnetic parking card and can use a space for Kč 800 per month. Spaces for nonresidents are more expensive.

Both short and long-term parking is available. The garage will be open all year round and throughout the week including weekends and public holidays.

Prague 1 is considering more parking projects in Klára and Senovážné náměstí.
