Public transit to see lots of disruptions this weekend

Muzeum on the metro A line will be shut in both directions, and some trams will be diverted

Prague residents will find several types of public transportation disrupted over the weekend of April 14 and 15.

The Muzeum metro station on the A line will be completely closed due to the renovations from Saturday morning at the start of the day to Sunday at midnight. The Muzeum stop on the C line will remain open, but there will be no easy way to change from the A line to the C line. People will have to change to the B line at Můstek and then to the C line at Florenc.

People who want to go to the top of Wenceslas Square will have to go to Můstek and walk.

The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) will be making announcements, posting information boards and giving out leaflets. Clerks in reflective vests will be aiding passengers.

Renovations have been taking place at Museum for some time, but usually, one track has remained open.

Several planned disruptions will take place on tram lines as well.

Due to track maintenance at Spálená and Lazarská by the Municipal Court, several trams will be diverted or shortened on Saturday. The work will extend into Sunday morning and affect the central transfer point at Lazarská during the night tram service.

The trams affected are 2, 3, 5, 6, 14, 18, 22, and 23 and night trams 91, 92, 94, 95, and 96.

The bus X91 will run on the route Lazarská - Wenceslas Square - Masarykovo nádraží - Náměstí Republiky - Dlouhá třída - Strossmayerovo náměstí at night hours.

On Sunday, tram traffic will be disrupted between the Lazarská and Jindřišská stops from early morning hours to approximately 6 pm. Trams 3, 5, 6, 9 and 14 are affected. A special X3 bus is being substituted as a replacement on the following route: Bílá labuť – Masarykovo nádraží – Dlážděná – Jindřišská – Václavské náměstí – Vodičkova – Lazarská – Karlovo náměstí – Vodičkova – Václavské náměstí – Jindřišská – Dlážděná – Masarykovo nádraží – Bílá labuť – Florenc.

DPP said that the repairs could not be postponed, as an immediate intervention on the tracks is required.

Trams 22, 23 and 41 will be diverted in the Malovanka – Brusnice – Chotkovy sady section from 7:30 am to 5 pm on Sunday as well.

At the same time, metro stops at Anděl, Budějovická and Náměstí Republiky are partly closed. Tram traffic continues to be slowed at Libeňský most due to the condition of the bridge.
