Tram tracks will be repaired in Vinohrady and Žižkov

Prague is doing work on the tracks from Muzeum to Želivského

Tram travel in Prague's Vinohrady and Žižkov districts will become complicated from Saturday, June 30, at 4:30 am until Sept. 1 at 12:30 am. The track from Muzeum to IP Pavlova and all the way to Želivského will be closed for repairs and renovations in both directions.

Tram lines 5, 10 11, 13, 15, 16, 36, 90, 91, 95 and 08 are affected. There will be route changes on some lines, and replacement buses to cover some sections.

The first phase of the planned work is being done in the summer so fewer people will be affected. A second phase of track work is planned for March to July 2019. Total cost should be Kč 250 million.

Sections of outdated tracks that are in poor condition will be replaced. Alterations will also make the tram stops easier to use for people with disabilities.

The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) listed the following transit complications:

Line 5 in the direction from Sídliště Barrandov will be shortened to the Flora stop and it will continue further as line 16 in the direction of Kotlářka.

Line 11 in the direction from Spořilov will be diverted from the I. P. Pavlova stop via Náměstí Míru to Čechovo náměstí, where it will end, with boarding on at Minská Street.

Line 15 in the direction from Kotlářka will be shortened to the Flora stop and it will continue further as line 16 in the direction of Sídliště Řepy.

Conversely, line 16 in the direction from Sídliště Řepy or Kotlářka will be shortened to the Flora stop and it will continue further as line 5 in the direction of Sídliště Barrandov or as line 15 in the direction of Kotlářka.

Line 91 in the direction from Divoká Šárka will be shortened to the Flora stop, where it will end.

Line 95 in the direction from Ústřední dílny DP will be diverted from Olšanské náměstí to Flora, where it will end.

Line 98 will be diverted on the Olšanské náměstí – Nákladové nádraží Žižkov section via the Olšanská stop.

Tram lines 10 and 13 will be canceled.

In the daytime operation, line 36 will operate on the route Ústřední dílny DP – Černokostelecká – Solidarita – Vozovna Strašnice – Želivského – Biskupcova – Palmovka – Nádraží Vysočany – Vysočanská – Kolbenova – Hloubětín – Lehovec.

In the night operation, line 90 will operate on the route Radošovická – Nádraží Strašnice – Strašnická – Vozovna Strašnice – Želivského – Biskupcova – Krejcárek – Palmovka (with an exit stop on Sokolovská Street and a boarding stop on Na Žertvách Street).

Two replacement buses are planned. The X11 bus will run in daytime on the route Želivského – Flora – Jiřího z Poděbrad – Náměstí Míru and the X16 will run on the Želivského – Flora route.

At night, the X91 bus will run on the Želivského – Flora route.

Tram stops will see changes. IP Pavlova stops will be established in both directions for daytime lines on Tylovo náměstí, by the intersection with Jugoslávská Street. A Flora stop will be established on Jičínská Street at the intersection with Slezská and Vinohradská streets.

There will also be a change with bus stops. A Flora stop will be established for lines Nos. 136, 175 and 913 in the direction of Olšanské náměstí at the actual tram stop on Jičínská Street, in front of the crossroads with Vinohradská Street.
