Emirates launches second daily Dubai-Prague flight

Demand on the route has led to the addition of a Boeing 777 on a second link

Emirates has launched a second daily flight between Dubai and Prague, to meet the increasing demand.

To meet the rising demand for both inbound and outbound travel, the airline has added this new daily flight operated by a Boeing 777-300ER with a capacity of 360 seats.

The new flight will accommodate three classes on board, with eight private suites in first class, 42 seats in business class and 310 seats in economy.

“The inauguration of a new flight is always an exciting moment for Emirates, and there is no better way to celebrate the successful eight-year anniversary of the Prague-Dubai line than adding the second line," Bořivoj Trejbal, Emirates country manager for the Czech Republic. “The launch of a new link based on stable demand opens up many new opportunities for passengers who want to enjoy traveling onboard Emirates,” he said.

The service also provides connectivity to Prague from destinations in Emirates’ and flydubai’s combined route network, including Bali, Bangkok, Colombo, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives, Mauritius and Singapore. Vietnam is a top destination for travelers from the Czech market, with Emirates serving both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The line fits in with the long-range plans of Prague Airport (Letiště Praha) to increase passenger numbers at Václav Havel Airport Prague.

“The launch of Emirates' second-day service to Dubai is another milestone in strengthening direct long-distance connections. Their development has long been one of our priorities, which also reflects developments in the air transport market and increasing interest in traveling to remote destinations. We, therefore, expect a more than 20 percent increase in the number of passengers on long-distance services for 2018, which this new frequency will undoubtedly contribute to,” Prague Airport director Jiří Vyskoč said.

Trade links are also set to improve with the additional cargo capacity of up to 20 tons offered by the wide-body Boeing aircraft. Czech companies will now have further opportunities to export to the Middle and Far East, South-East Asia and Australia.

All customers can look forward to award-winning levels of care and comfort when traveling with Emirates, including being entertained by up to 3,500 channels of on-demand audio and visual entertainment from the latest movies to music and games.

Flight EK137 leaves Dubai at 15:30 and arrives in Prague at 19:55. The return flight EK138 leaves Prague at 21:35 and arrives in Dubai at 05:30 the following day.

The new flight route complements the existing daily schedule operated by an Emirates A380, which currently departs Dubai at 08:35 as EK139 and lands in Prague at 13:00, and returns as EK140, departing Prague at 15:55 and landing in Dubai at 23:50.

Emirates has been serving the Czech market since 2010 and during this time has carried some 1.7 million passengers on the route.
