Prague Airport wins service award

The airport is among the best in its size for customer satisfaction

Prague Airport has garnered the Airport Service Quality Award 2018, given annually by the Airports Council International (ACI) to airports with the highest passenger satisfaction for services. The airports at Athens and Helsinki shared the prize with Prague Airport as the best European airport in the category of 15 million to 25 million passengers.

Prague Airport is the company that operates Václav Havel Airport Prague.

Passenger’s long-term satisfaction with services at Prague Airport is shown not only by international data but also the latest perception survey conducted among the Czech flying population at the end of last year. According to that survey by polling firm Median, some 97 percent of respondents consider the overall impression of the airport as very good or rather good. Some 46 percent said very good and 51 percent said rather good.

“For the third consecutive year, Prague Airport has shown a significant increase in the number of checked-in passengers, which means increased demands on the total capacity of the airport. At the same time, however, we also had to start implementing some development projects without compromising on meeting demands for high-quality passenger services. The Airport Service Quality Award is proof to us that we have achieved this difficult task. We are very grateful to all of our employees, for whom the internationally recognized ASQ results are an important indicator of the quality of work,” Václav Řehoř, chairman of the board of directors of Prague Airport, said in a press release.

The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program is organized by the association Airports Council International and is one of the world's most recognized initiatives to research and evaluate customer satisfaction with the services provided at the world's major airports.

ASQ results are published quarterly, and for participating airports they are an important indicator for providing further services and for quality improvement. Prizes based on the ASQ results are awarded once a year.

Other winners of the Airport Service Quality Award, along Prague Airport, are the airports in Zurich, Oslo, Rome and London City. Prizes will be presented to winners from around the world at ACI's official ceremony in Bali, Indonesia.

ACI is a global industry association that brings together approximately 1,960 airports in 176 countries around the world. It was established in 1991 and aims to promote cooperation between members and other air transport partners.

European airports awarded as the best in terms of passenger satisfaction:

Up to 2 million passengers per year: Alméria, Spain; Girona, Spain; Melilla, Spain; Zaragoza, Spain; Skopje, North Macedonia

2 million to 5 million passengers per year: London City, UK; Southampton, UK; Tallinn, Estonia; Zagreb, Croatia

5 million to 15 million passengers per year: Alicante, Spain; Bergen, Norway; Bristol, UK; Sochi, Russia; Keflavík, Iceland; Luqa, Malta; Newcastle, UK

15 million to 25 million passengers per year: Athens, Greece; Prague, Czech Republic; Helsinki, Finland

25 million to 40 million passengers per year: Dublin, Ireland; Zurich, Switzerland; Oslo, Norway

Over 40 million passengers per year: Rome Fiumicino, Italy; Moscow Sheremetyevo, Russia
