Suburban ferry service starts

A ferry line at Černošice will take Prague transit tickets

The first suburban ferry line included in the Prague Integrated Transit (PID) system has been launched on the Berounka river between Černošice-Mokropsy and Kazín. Prague transit tickets will now be valid for the trip across the river on what is designated as the P4 ferry. The use of PID tickets is a test. The city has been making efforts to better integrate suburban lines into the transit system.

The service will run until Oct. 1, but it does not operate in bad weather such as windstorms and hail. Bicycles, baby carriages, children up to 6 years of age and dogs ride free of charge. The ferry holds up to 40 people.

The ferry segment is part of an existing sightseeing cruise trip from Plaz to Černošice-Mokropsy to Kazín to Lipence and up to the main part of Černošice. Only the single cross-river segment is covered by Prague transit tickets, and service is once an hour from 9:50 am to 7 pm. The timetables can be found on the ROPID website.

The route is outside of the city, so the suburban zone system applies for fares. The route is included in the B and 1 tariff plans.

The S7 rail line goes to the Černošice-Mokropsy station, and the ferry slip is 600 meters from the station. The S7 line also stops in Prague's main station, Praha hlavní nádraží, and the Smíchov station and goes on to Karlštejn and Beroun. The train runs every half hour in the daytime.

Getting to Kazín from Prague is a bit more difficult, and requires buses that only run on workdays.

The cheapest ticket valid for the ferry is Kč 18, which will allow you to travel for half an hour in a limited area, due to the zone system.

If you plan to travel further on public transportation a Kč 24 or Kč 32 ticket will allow travel in more zones for longer times.

Kč 12 and SMS tickets cannot be used.

The full sightseeing tour of the ferry boat called Kazi requires a ticket from the company that operates the boats, and for an adult is Kč 150.
