MINT: Pop Up Hall 13 offers a new way to shop
A market for local designers, artists and brands will be open Fridays and Saturdays
Hall No. 13 in Pražská tržnice at Bubenské nábřeží in Holešovice will open up on Friday, Sept. 29, to launch MINT: Pop Up Hall 13.
The organizers have a new concept, and the minimalist space of Hall 13 will turn into a sought-after shopping address with regular vendors, where fans of high-quality fashion, design, art and good food will go every Friday and Saturday. It is meant as an alternative to impersonal shopping malls.
Entry is free, and the space is wheelchair accessible. Pets are welcome.
Local designers and brands will show their work in 40 presentation stations. The vendors have gone through a strict selection for the quality and origin of goods.
Hall 13 will be transformed into a unique department store until the end of the year. “You might discover your dream dress at MINT, but what if it doesn't fit? It will be simple. You talk to the designer about the alterations and pick it up in a week. Or, when your friend likes earrings you've bought at MINT, you'll know where you can find the seller on Fridays and Saturdays, and you'll go shopping for them next time,” says Lenka Kolářová, the principal behind MINT.
Autumn and Christmas purchases can be made in a quiet and friendly atmosphere without crowds and continuous holiday songs blaring in the background.
MINT: Pop Up Hall 13 is preparing a special accompanying program each month. Topus are music, fashion, and theater, literature and film. There will be collaborations with Jatka 78, Raketa magazine, the organization Fashion Revolution and many others. MINT: Pop Up Hall 13 will have a permanent zone with gourmet delicacies, MINT MIND coffee shop with excellent coffee and cakes, and a children's play area for the smallest visitors.
MINT: Pop Up Hall 13 cuts an imaginary opening ribbon on Friday, Sept. 29.
On both Friday and Saturday there will be music from Lazer Viking, Carpet Cabinet, Totál Vokál, Fred Madison, DJ Jana Kománková, and The Muslim Jew, The Ugly & The Drummer. Music starts at 2 pm on Friday and at noon on Saturday.
After the opening, MINT: Pop Up Hall 13 will be open every Friday from 11 am to 7 pm and every Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm until the end of the year.
Music is the theme for Sept. 29 and 30. Fashion takes the spotlight Oct. 20 and 21. The focus is on theater, literature and film Nov. 10 and 11.
MINT has been staging fashion markets for over 10 years to promote local designers and artists. They organized the Brno Fashion Market 24 times and Prague Fashion Market 19 times. They are also involved in organizing events like Zažít město jinak, Živá ulice and Rock for Churchill.
