IWAP holiday market returns to Hotel International

The ninth edition of the market lest shoppers buy gifts and support charity

The International Women’s Association of Prague (IWAP) holds their ninth annual Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 11 am to 5 pm at the Hotel International.

The 2018 IWAP Christmas Market brings together local vendors for an afternoon of gift shopping, used English book sale, baked goods, prize giveaways, and holiday entertainment to raise funds for charity.

There is no entry fee, and all funds raised go to charity.

The market offers attendees the opportunity to shop for unique and authentic local gifts, enjoy holiday entertainment, dine on home-baked goods, and win raffle prizes.

This year’s vendors and products include: Bohemia Paper’s handmade Christmas cards and paper, olive oil from Spain, Mexican arts and crafts, handmade soaps, jewelry, cosmetics, specialty foods and select wines, among other things.

Shoppers can also look forward to the popular used books table, with English language books at low prices. The holiday food and drink sales include the crowd-pleasing IWAP bake table’s packaged sweets, savory items and Christmas baked goods.

IWAP will again be selling tickets for a Christmas Market raffle, offering a chance to win prizes from restaurant vouchers to food baskets, wines, and specialty gifts, valued at at least 1000 Kč each.

All of the funds raised at this year’s market will support SKP Hopo, providing temporary housing and social services to parents and their children at risk of losing their homes, and to Veitj, working to meet the needs of adolescents and adults with autism and providing relief services for families of people with autism.

Hotel International, located at Koulova 1501/15 in Prague 6, is easily reached by public transportation, with a bus stop in front of the hotel that connects directly to the Dejvická stop on the Metro A line. The hotel also offers parking. Attendees to this year’s market will have access to the hotel garden, an outside play area for children, and a special lunch buffet at the restaurant Symphonia.

The International Women’s Association of Prague is an independent, non-political, non-profit organization run voluntarily by its members. Members range in age and represent both Czech citizens and Prague-based expatriates from 35 countries around the world.
