WWE wrestling stars coming to O2 Arena

Several current and past champions will be putting on a sports entertainment show

Stars of world wrestling will be coming to Prague’s O2 Arena on May 13. 2018 for a show called W Live. Tickets go on sale Nov. 29 at 9 am.

Some of the top stars from WWE, formerly known as World Wrestling Entertainment, will be facing off in a high-energy show of sports entertainment.

The announced lineup of professional wrestlers includes AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura.

The New Day, Jinder Mahal, Baron Korbin, Sami Zayn, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Naomi.

AJ Styles is known as The Phenomenal One. “Known the world over for his in-ring prowess, thrilling aerial maneuvers, and supreme confidence, Styles has found success everywhere he’s traveled, accumulating an incredibly impressive résumé, capped off by sports-entertainment's most prestigious title, the WWE Championship,” the WWE says of its star.

Kevin Owens is described as “an outspoken, Quebec-born brawler who bolts around the ring with equal parts grace and bad intentions.”

Shinsuke Nakamura is called The King of Strong Style. The 14-year wrestling veteran has been a top star for New Japan Pro Wrestling since 2002. He was a three-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion in New Japan Wrestling.

Jinder Mahal begun his career on the independent circuit and joined WWE in 2010, but had a mediocre run and left in 2014. He returned two years later with an improved body condition and rose in the ranks quickly. He was the 50th WWE Champion and the first title holder of Indian descent. He held the title for 170 days before AJ Styles took it over.

The New Day is a professional wrestling stable composed of Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. They are four-time world tag team champions in WWE and have developed a cult following. The Baltimore Sun in 2016 described them as “the most entertaining wrestling act of the past few years.”

Baron Corbin is a former NFL player for the Colts and Cardinals as well as a three-time Golden Gloves champion. Nicknamed The Lone Wolf, he moved to wrestling, where, as the WWE puts its, “he found the perfect outlet for his rage … and the perfect target for it in, well, anyone and everyone who crosses his path.” Currently, he is the WWE United States Champion.

Sami Zayn is a Canadian-born Superstar of Syrian descent who has competed in 29 countries. “Zayn is known for approaching situations with a lighthearted, fun-loving attitude, but opponents need not underestimate his intensity,” the WWE states.

Charlotte Flair is the daughter of 16-time World Champion Ric Flair. She got experience in the NXT Universe before going to WWE where she has been ushering in a “women's revolution,” winning several women’s titles and being the first woman to headline a pay-per-view event.

Becky Lynch, from Dublin, is also part of the women’s revolution and has competed as part of a team and as an individual.

Naomi began as a dancer for the NBA's Orlando Magic and for hip-hop stars like Flo Rida. She eventually gave up dancing for wrestling, where she could use her experience and training for another goal.
