The Prague Black Panthers win in Graz

At 16:00 this Saturday, April 25th, the Prague Black Panthers will face the Danube Dragons at Athletic Stadium Slavia

The Panthers’ first match against the Vikings gave their fans some hope for more, although the number of Prague supporters in Graz was lacking. For the local Giants, it was the first home game of the season, and this was reflected in the enthusiasm of their supporters.

The first part of the game for the home team went well, with Graz quarterback Gubish playing strongly.

In the second quarter, both teams were playing at full speed. Kyle Newhall-Cabellero scored for the Prague Black Panthers, as did Kršák Daniel, John and James Dundáček Wolevský. The Panthers were leading 28 to 21.

Not many touchdowns were scored in what was nonetheless an exciting second half. The onslaught of the Graz Giants, powered by a stadium packed with their fans, came five minutes before the game ended. The Giants reduced the difference in score to just one touchdown. Prague’s weakened but devoted defense continued to hold off their opponents, however. The Prague Black Panthers won for the first time this season 34 to 28.

On the second day, Sunday, the Prague Black Panthers played on their home turf against the only foreign team in the Czech league: The Trnava Bulldogs. Many of the PBP players, including quarterback John Dundáčka, played very well in Saturday’s dramatic Austrian-league game in Graz. Things were not quite so easy for them against Trnava, however, although the team’s defense was still able to stop the Bulldogs.

The Prague Black Panthers were victorious and beat the Trnava Bulldogs 40:26.

At 16:00 this Saturday, April 25th, the Prague Black Panthers will face the Danube Dragons at Athletic Stadium Slavia. After the team’s win in Graz, local supporters can expect an exciting game. There’s a good chance the Panthers will win their second game in a row in the Austrian Football League (AFL).

The whole team is hoping for a great show of support, just like they enjoyed during the opening game of the AFL against the Vienna Vikings!
