5th year of GENERALI CEE Cup knows its format

Generali CEE Cup, Prague 22nd – 29th July 2015

The anniversary edition of the U19 football tournament gets underway July 22. The participating elite teams have been divided into four groups of three teams.

Brazil’s Fluminense will play in Group A against Slovakian finalist from last year AS Trenčín and Vasas Kubala Academy. Member of British Premier League Swansea City will introduce itself in Group D against Academy Pandev and FC Brasov. Czech fans can look forward to AC Sparta Prague playing in Group B against Australian Olympic FC and Hajduk Split from Croatia. Prague’s rivals from Vršovice SK Slavia Praha will play in Group C against Polish Wisla Krakow and Serbian FK Sarajevo.

Main football grounds of this years GENERALI CEE Cup is the TCM AC Sparta Praha at Strahov, which will host this year’s tournament. As every year matches will be also played at FK Admira Praha. The new stadium hosts normally local team SK Uhelné sklady. Semifinals and the big final will be played at the FK Viktoria Žižkov stadium.

Also this year fans will be able to contribute to UNICEF by purchasing tickets for the Final game, which will be held on 29th July 2015, profit from ticket sales goes to the charity. The tournament is organized under patronage of FIFA and FAČR. This years general partner will be again GENERALI, already for the third time.

Alexander Bellu, deputy mayor of Prague 3, said: „I am extremely pleased that such a large event as GENERALI CEE Cup finals will take place in Prague 3. Looking at the teams which participace I believe I will see a great football show and I am very happy that Prague 3 will be part of an event of this magnitude."

Jiří Cívka, a member of the Foundation Board of GENERALI, said: "The quality and organization of the tournament GENERALI CEE Cup improves each year, this is supported this year's list of teams that will come to Prague from all over the world. Generali CEE Cup fits into our long-term concept of supporting sports projects that help young people realize their potential. Sport is the connection to a healthy lifestyle. This is one of the reasons why we supported the tournament for the third time."
