Diplomats Polo Cup 2017 – Prague, “The Sport of Kings”

Diplomats Polo Cup – Prague 2017, Friday 16th to Sunday 18th June @ CONSEQ Park, Velká Chuchle

The Diplomats Polo Cup – Prague 2017, an international polo tournament is taking place in the Czech capital from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th June. The tournament is aimed especially to families who can look forward to the excitement of thrills & spills on the field and a rich programme of entertainment off it. This year’s event is being held under the auspices of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The three-day tournament hosted by the Prague Country and Polo Club in Prague will take place in CONSEQ Park, Velká Chuchle and is open to public with the Grand Finals taking place on Sunday June 18th from 12:00 noon. Polo fans, horse enthusiasts as well as active families are welcome to come and enjoy a day out and have a picnic at an exciting and unique sports event. A polo match can be just as engaging off the field as on and don’t forget to participate in the long-standing half-time tradition of “divot stomping” where spectators converge on to the field to stomp down the turf that has been torn up by the pony’s hooves.

Four teams of players with a team handicap of up to +2 are registered to compete for this prestigious cup. Players are coming from Europe and worldwide and consist of enthusiastic amateurs and polo professionals. Exciting and high profile matches are therefore guaranteed.

On Friday and Saturday the matches will start from 2:00 pm and Sunday's Grand Finals from 12:00 am. Sunday's Grand Finals will include an opening ceremony with a representative from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, high class catering, “have-a-go-polo“ practice area, VIP tent, award ceremony and much more. There will be prizes for best dressed Lady and Gentleman, so if you want to be in the running you had better let your sartorial elegance shine!

Attendance for the Friday and Saturday matches are open to the general public and free of charge. VIP tickets for the Sunday Grand Finals are available for purchase under info(at)diplomatspolocup.com for 1,500 CZK.
