Generali CEE Cup coming soon

The seventh edition of the tournament will have 12 teams

This year, one of the prestigious international youth football tournaments in Europe will again be held in Prague. This year’s edition will mark the seventh GENERALI CEE Cup in as many years.

The selection of 12 youth teams of up to 19 years of age from around the world will be playing in Prague from Thursday, July 20 to Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

Like every year, we can expect both a diverse selection of teams, including representatives from Nigeria, Turkey and England, as well as experienced international referees.

AC Sparta Praha, a traditional participant in every edition of the tournament, will be returning as the two-time champion and defender of last year's title. The second Czech representative will be the famous SK Slavia Praha. Their strongest opponent will surely be found in the English Premier League team, Everton FC. This year's rookie team will be Nigeria's Real Sapphire Football Club, who will be attending the tournament for the very first time.

A total of 300 players will be showcasing their football skills in Prague not only to the audience, but also to a large group of scouts from leading European clubs.

The final match, as usual, will take place at the Bohemians 1905 Stadium in Ďolíček, where a fun program for families and kids will be prepared for the afternoon.

“Like every year, we look forward to new players coming to our tournament and showing off their talent in Prague. It will be very interesting to follow their developing careers, as the best ones will be promoted to professional football soon after the tournament. To each one, we wish all the possible sporting success,” says GENERALI CEE Cup Chairman, Roberto De Blasio

“Promoting a sport event where young people can develop their sporting potential and personality is a real pleasure for us. Once again, we are participating in the promotion of this important tournament, where one can view not just excellent football matches but also a very varied intertwining of cultures, languages and customs,” said Jan Marek, spokesman for Generali.

The sporting aspect of the tournament will again be backed by a charitable spirit where the proceeds of the admission will be credited to UNICEF, an international organization supporting the protection and improvement of children's living conditions.
