Tram tracks on Vinohradská to be renovated

The repairs will affect the 11, 13 and 23 lines until mid-July

Tram track renovations are planned for Vinohradská Street in Prague 2 and 3, starting March 9 and lasting until early morning on July 13.

The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) will repair the 1.9-kilometer section between Španělská and Sudoměřská streets. This follows after repairs last year on a 700-meter section of the same tracks.

Four stops will be closed during this phase of repairs: Italská, Vinohradská tržnice, Jiří z Poděbrad and Radhošťská.

Tram lines 11, 13 and 23 will be affected. Tram line 13 will be canceled during the repairs.

Tram line 11 in both direction between I.P. Pavlova and Flora will detour via Náměstí Míru, Šumavská and Vinohradská vodárna.

A temporary tram stop will be set up at I.P. Pavlova at the intersection of Tylovo náměstí and Jugoslávská Street.

Tram line 23 will go from I.P. Pavlova through the Náměstí Míru and Ruska stops and terminates at Čechovo náměstí.

In daytime hours a special X11 bus will run in a loop between the Náměstí Míru and Vinohradská vodárna stops. The bus will travel at 15-minute intervals.

The track repairs coincide with the overall renovation of Vinohradská Street, which will make sidewalks wider and add more trees.

The track repairs are expected cost Kč 205 million. Tracks and overhead cables will be replaced, and drainage will be repaired. Barrier-free access to the stops will be improved and new timetable posts will be built.
