2017 Summer Camps for English-Speaking Children

When school’s out & your children want an adventure

With the arrival of warm weather (finally!) in the Czech Republic, summer vacation doesn’t seem that far away. For school-aged children enrolled in Czech state schools, this year’s summer break runs from July 1 through September 1. While your child may dream of sleeping in and lazy days at the pool, summer is also a great time to meet new friends, try different activities and have adventures that aren’t possible during the school year.

Prague.TV has rounded up some tips on summer camps that are accessible to English-speaking children in the Czech Republic. Whether your child dreams of traveling the world (See Class Acts’ 5 Days – 5 Continents day camp), exploring the outdoors while sleeping away from home (See Eurocamp & Goldlife outdoor camps in “Overnight Section”) or mixing Minecraft training with Escape & Evasion survival techniques – best wishes from Prague TV for an unforgettable summer!

Eurocamp (An International Summer Camp in English) – 10 Days in Hawaii

In their 12th year running as Eurocamp (and with many previous years leading the English 4 You and Summer Time camps), this well-known organization offers a multicultural environment for children from different backgrounds. Campers from different countries come together to enjoy nature, participate in traditional outdoor camp activities, improve their English language skills, and become more independent. This year’s theme is “10 Days in Hawaii” and the camp website has a special section in English for children here.

The camp uses English as its international language with native-speaking camp leaders who speak English & Czech. It is equally geared toward non-native speakers who’d like to improve their English language skills as well as native English speakers who’d like to make friends from different countries.

Eurocamp is held in an idyllic setting in South Bohemia and has small cabins for sleeping, a large central building for meals and indoor activities and spacious grounds for outdoor exploration. Situated near the Lužnice River, water activities include canoeing, boating and swimming. Sessions run every 10 days throughout the summer.
