Rock for People coming in July

The big festival at Hradec Králové will be headlined by the Prodigy and the Kooks

Rock for People, one of the biggest and oldest open-air music festivals in the Czech Republic, will take place July 4–6 at the disused airport in Hradec Králové.

This year will feature scores of bands from the Czech Republic and abroad to celebrate the summer.

Headliners include electronic band the Prodigy, British indie rock bands the Kooks and the Vaccines, American rockers Skillet, Danish heavy metal star Volbeat, uninhibited Enter Shikari, German punk act Beatsteaks and the hero of the music documentary Searching for Sugar Man, Rodriguez.

Along with them are Marmozets, Stick To Your Guns, Sick Puppies, Albert Hammond Jr., Blossoms and others well-known acts.

Although the Rock for People festival line-up is dominated by indie and hard rock, visitors can enjoy afterparties again this year. And the biggest will be Thursday after the Prodigy show, featuring a Sigma DJ set. The act has sold over 3 million singles and has worked with Rita Ora, Birdy and Take That.

More news for dance lovers is the Portal Show, a stage styled like a giant intergalactic portal that is the only one of its kind in Europe. It will be brought by the organizers of the world's biggest drum and bass festival, Let It Roll.

An integral part of the popular three-day event is an accompanying program. The traveling food festival Street Food Rocks will culminate at Rock for People The traveling food festival, which will be in Prague on June 2, offers culinary experiences and gastronomy from around the world.

A new face will be put on Rock for People by the Civil Engineering faculty of the Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT), who will design the festival's main entrance gate this year.

Visitors will be able to enjoy some relaxation at a pool, the beach and the chill out zones. Sports and adrenaline experiences, exhibitions, competitions and workshops scheduled.
