Circus and Theatre Festival Letní Letná Kicks off Next Week

The "Leave the Crowd Speachless" Summer Circus Festival is back for its 16th Season at Letna.

The 16th annual international festival of modern circus and theatre Letní Letná (mezinárodního festivalu nového cirkusu a divadla Letní Letná) takes off on Wednesday, August 14th, and for three weeks will turn Letna Park into a unique world of kind humor, playful imagination, daredevil revelry, contagious energy and eager artistic performance, often leaving the crowd breathless.

Opening the Letní Letná will be the world famous rope walker Tatiana-Mosio Bongonga from the French ensemble Cie Basinga, crossing the Vltava River 35 meters in the air on a rope 350 meters long! Directly at the main Letna venue, the festival launch will continue with several open air performances and concerts. The entire opening is free of charge.

This year's exceptional experiences include the performance of many foreign acts. The popular Canadian beards from Cirque Alfons will return to Letní Letná with a daring new act titled Tabarnak. The trio of acrobats from the T1J (Théâtre d'Un Jour) will feature a more intimate Strach (Fear) - a fear song, in which soprano Julie Calbete will join, giving the performance a whole new dimension. We can also look forward to a unique group of 17 artists and their Projet.PDF as well as the group Cirque Aïtal, which through its performance Saison du Cirque (Circus Season) will bring visitors to the edge of the traditional circus meeting the modern one.

Letní Letná is the traditional main event of the domestic modern circus scene. This year's premiere of the new Heroes will be presented by the brilliant Losers Cirque Company. This time, they invited the director of the National Theater Drama Daniel Špinar and the holder of Thalia, Radim Vizváry.

Cirk La Putyka arrives at Letna with this year's new Isole, which invites visitors to a place full of joy and playfulness, bursting with diverse music in various forms. We can also look forward to the always popular VOSTO5, Holektiv, Bratry v tricku, Squadra Sua and others. This year's themes include Cirksession and Žonglérská (Juggling) Galashow.

Enjoy the shows!
