MINT coming to Prague’s Karlovo náměstí

The fashion and design market will coincide with the Praha žije hudbo music festival

MINT: Prague Fashion Market will be at Karlovo náměstí on June 8–9. Part of the Prague festival of street music, Praha žije hudbou, will be held at the same location. Both events will be accessible free of charge, without barriers and are suitable for children and pets.

MINT is a market for independent fashion, jewelry and design. It will be held in Prague for the 22nd time. In addition to stalls with original products and snacks, there will be children's theater, workshops, and visitors will be able to rent a blanket for a picnic in the park.

The MINT organizers have been holding independent markets for eight years to create a space for local designers, responsible shopping, recycling, slow fashion and a return to original, personal presentation and product sales.

Among the nearly 100 brands that will take part in the 22nd edition is PunkTura with secondhand fashion adorned with silk-screen printing, jewelry from recycled PET bottles and steel from IMH and children's clothing from Chiaro that grows with children.

The family company Jancarik produces shoes with a minimalist design from quality natural materials from local suppliers. Kučertina, makes hand-painted glazed ceramics. Seoul-kitchen offers Korean and Japanese cuisine, Nosmacarons makes those popular little cookies. Wine in designer bottles comes from Vinařství David Chocholatý.

On Friday at 3 pm, Divadlo Pruhované panenky will stage an interactive fairy tale about Red Riding Hood. Children can learn new songs, create a choir and pop up on the deck, where a birthday party is waiting for them.

On Saturday afternoon, Divadlo Toymachine will present a playful puppet story of Czech folk tales. For adults, a workshop on health is planned. The theater and workshops are aimed at Czech speakers.

Praha žije hudbou is a separate initiative that brings live music to the streets. Karlovo náměstí is just one location.

There will be 200 artists at 50 spaces across the city including 40 busker pointed and five stages. It will run June 7–9. Famous names participating include Aneta Langerová, James Cole, Heymoonshaker (UK), and Indy & Wich + LA4. There is also some live theater from Cirk La Putyka, Spitfire Company, VerTeDance & Beata Hlavenková, and others.
