The Prague Raptors Win Opening Two Matches

The Prague Raptors formed just 10 months ago with the aim of reaching the Czech national football league by 2027

The Prague Raptors men’s team have started the season with a bang after winning their first two league matches without conceding a goal. The Raptors have taken to life in the lower regions of Czech football like a duck to water and sit proudly top of the league after two games.

For those of you not familiar with Prague’s latest addition to the footballing community, the Raptors formed just 10 months ago with the aim of reaching the Czech national football league by 2027. It is a bold ambition but the club has worked wonders since its inception.

The Raptors boast a men and women’s team while they have an impressive setup behind the scenes with a diverse range coaches and a management team.

Their latest victory over Spartak Kbely B followed up their opening 9-0 hammering of TJ Sokol Lysolaje and sent a warning to the rest of the league that the Raptors mean business as they begin their ascent up the Czech football pyramid.

However, off the pitch, their work has been just as impressive as club founder and President Daz Moss has hit the ground running with the club connections made and work in the local community. The Raptors are a non-profit organization with a strong commitment to social responsibility and are keen to forge relationships in the local community.

The Raptors work closely with the League 5 football academy in Prague as well as having strong club values in place, with diversity sitting at the top of the list. And this evident from the squad list of the men’s and women’s team, a scroll through the players’ names and nationalities paints a picture of a multi-cultural club that itself is indicative itself of life in the heart of the Czech capital.

The club, for the time being, plays their home matches at Zlicin but there are ambitions to build the Raptors home in the centre of Prague and to become part of the local community. The club already has a full range of merchandise available for fans to buy from the club shop online, while they continue to grow their fan base on a weekly basis.

Meanwhile, the women’s team have found life tough on the pitch after losing their opening match 1-0 to TJ Baník Švermov but the experience will stand in the good stead for the weeks ahead as the players continue to work on the training ground.

Looking ahead, the Raptors men will continue their domestic action on 15 September against TJ Slavoj Suchdol "B" at Zlicin, while the women will be looking to avenge their opening day loss when they face Souš/Ervěnice-Jirkov.
